MOURNING BELOVETH Sign With GRAU RECORDS

May 24, 2004

Irish doom/death metal band MOURNING BELOVETH have inked a deal with Grau Records, a subsidiary of Prophecy Productions. "The deal is for four albums the first of which is to be recorded in October in the famous Studio E in Germany," the band write on their web site. "This is a very exciting step for both band and label and it underlines the fact that doom metal is on the rise."

With regards to the songwriting process for the new album, the band write: "We are in the process of writing the new material with two songs complete, two nearing completion and four more still in their embryonic stages. By the time the album is ready to record we should have six tracks and they will display an eclectic mix of soft acoustic guitars combined together with driving melodies and mesmerizing, slow guttural soul crushing doom. The apocalyptic atmospheres of certain sections are only highlighted by the intensity and bleak diversification of the more up-tempo parts creating a melting pot of desolate DOOM METAL. The lyrical content is one of light and shade, the extremes of life and the grey cosmos between where as vocally the concept of extremes are again employed as Darren and Frank trade off ethereal harmonies with mind destroying growls that has been a trademark of previous releases."
